This selection is located
only in the pyramid of the Levitator Pepi II on the
north wall of the Sarcophagus or Atlantean
Chamber. No one really opens the Eye of Second
Sight instead of Illusion
or hallucination, without understanding this crucial Utterance. No one
opens the Eye without understanding
two technical terms in the Science of Second Sight,
sedem
and sedemi. Egyptologists have not
been much help in this regard, because of their myopic obsession with ritual.
Even Faulkner rccognized that this Utterance is actually divided into two
distinct parts, where only a one or two word last part is intended as ritual.
But then he ignores this fact and can't resist the temptation to trash
this entire text as no more than ritual gobbledygook. Faulkner does fine
with sedemi meaning 'attach',
because such a meaning can be both ritual and non-ritual. But with sedem
meaning 'paint' or to physically paint
something, he suddenly turns into a ritual spin doctor unable to avoid
belittling this Utterance. The Ancient Egyptians were certainly able to
think figuratively as we do in the English language, with 'paint'
meaning 'portray (or image) in color'.
Faulkner's really unscientific preference for the word her
meaning 'face' concretely and not 'sight
or vision' figuratively turns out to be a disaster in his purely
ritual translations. Utterance 80 tries to remedy this situation by introducing
the reader to an advanced state of mostly visual consciousness which is
still virtually unknown in our highest centers of learning in the world
today. The Eye of Second Sight cannot be attained by intellectual study,
but only by direct experience in a Fountain of Youth which Pepi II appears
to have tasted over 4,000 years ago in the 6th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt.
In a time when life expectancy was very short, he lived for an astonishing
one hundred years and ruled for 94 years according to Manetho which is
longer than any other pharaoh. sedem
and sedemi go together.
Second Sight 'images in color' to the two eyes and this
'attaches'
Second
Sight to the same two eyes. Illusion
is killed in a second beyond resurrection by quickly glancing to
one side. If the entire Vision jumps to one side with the
two eyes, it has been successfully verified as Second
Sight and is definitely not Illusion.
And as long as this simple test is always employed, Illusion
is effectively dead and a new state of consciousness has been attained.
